the constant

when in sorrow,
where do you find succor?
in a memory of bygone times?
in a hope of a future that will open up happiness?
in drawing on what you have done well or will try to do better?
in waiting for a heaven that will bring reward for time spent here?
in a passing dream that turns to something else tomorrow?
in an image that is called to mind of a time when the body was young?
in the looking forward to rest and play one day?
in the holding of a loved one near?
in the soothing, comfort of ego pleasure?
in a longing for the end to that which brings unhappiness?
this ride you know so well, yes?
and have you found the end that is the beginning there?
have you found a lasting substance that rings of beauty?
have you found a fresh life that puts to rest the sorrow?
or have you found the same play, the same movement that
goes from one to the next without manifesting
unwavering peace?
if i am wrong in this writing, then say so...
say that i am mistaken to say the mind will not bring about
a sturdy, undying settled way...
the best thing is to find out yourself....
see what lies under this continual movement that rolls on
and on in it's babbling talk...
and see if there is indeed purity under it all ..
for when you taste of the non-dual --
the shadow mind will disappears and only then
will it be known.......
one cannot know it by wondering about it
and debating or attempting to create it within..
this will only serve to obstruct this clarity more so...
it is true as said, that the heart is where the focus is to be..
and this moment is what is to be imbibed...
a much simpler way of being than the complexity of mind
and the only way to taste for yourself the stunning difference...
between movement -- and stillness...
and experience directly what is constant and steady...
complete, whole and beautiful...
which is what mind attempts to create, but it is not it ...
it leaves one chasing the shadows about that go nowhere...
so, what to do if one is sincere?
simply back to the balanced breath, relaxing in the moment...
letting go of the residue of yesterday and future projections...
and relaxing within the experience of now...
much simpler than the other way, yes?

  1. Namaste The mind will not bring strardy undying settled way. Can definitely see that! The thoughts come from nowear and go nowear. Can see that too. Yes relaxing into now is very simple, only if can become the usual doing, or undoing. LOL OM
