What is it you desire?

Though you may be learned in Vedanta
and born into the wealth of brahmin caste
adorned with marks of honor
of your privileged class
though you may speak beautiful words
that fall like lotus petals from your mouth
or go on a bowing pilgrimage across the earth
or hold your arm up for 10 years until it shrivels
as an austerity
though you may be so disciplined
that you fast for many a day
until your eyeballs pop out
and your skull is shrunken
or read scriptures daily
or listen to satsang from those that claim
divine knowledge
or chant mantra
on rudraksha beads
morning and evening
or wash in the Ganga daily
and float flowers on it's waters
in worship
or sing of God in your heart
at dawn and dusk
or dance with the Sufi's
or cry to the moon with the wolves
or pray in the mosque
and temple
several times daily
with humility
or do good deeds for your family
and creatures of the earth
or feed the hungry
or save the rain forests
or save the animals
or want to save the world

Dear seeker of truth
though you may engage in these practices -

Some only serve
to further solidify the ego and sufferiing
**which is not beneficial**

**some may open the heart
and bring in more love and harmony
in your life...which is a very good thing**

**some may indeed benefit the world
and it's creatures when done with a
heart of compassion and love there
is no doubt...***

but as far as breaking thru to
non-dual reality
nay friend,
only complete surrender
and follow thru of the pointings given
by a wise elder (a sincere Guru or master)
will liberate the soul
and uncover eternal peace
this is written in the scriptures
and is what is sung in the Gita
as the way to the eternal
which comes thru the living and fulfilling
of the Guru's pointings and
glorious example
there is no other way

So then what is it you desire?
Seeker and friend
If you desire liberation
surrender to Guru is essential
if you desire to dance *with*
may you dance well and enjoy
may you love well
until that day does come when
when you are unable to go back
to that which covers the light

may blessings abound...
