what would you do?

if the master has a rope what would you call it?
a snake or what it is -
this is like mind
seeing all sorts of other things than what is true
and by doing so creating an illusive world of pleasure and pain
instead of taking in what is here with clarity and equanimity
and breathing easily in heart and mind
and staying steady and calm with the passing phases
but this is not a thing to take in and fuel it further in the wheels
of karma and desire
for light to be made manifest
the wheels need to grind to a halt
and die down and stop
then listen to the silence
and feel the music of life
as a perfect symphony that is no-thing
and rising from nowhere
listen

if the master puts aside a gift for you
would you open it with gratitude?
i would hope so
because what is in there is yourself
set free of mental waves and imperfections of mind
within peace eternally
this is the gift
that the master points to

if the master says to you
be upright and sturdy so you can walk forward
into the death that brings light
would you listen well?
as this takes guts and courage
not fretting about and taking some of what is given
and throwing out the rest
this will not make a "heavy" being of substance
that is to make it thru the rough ways of mind

if the master has a lamp to offer you
will you take it up?
and hold it near to shed light on the misunderstood ways
for this will only show to you
what is real and what is false
and make the mind slow down
and decrease and fall away
leaving the rich still beauty underneath
to come forward
and be *lived*
not wondered about anymore ....

if the master holds a key
will you take it and unlock the door to the heart?
because the door is yourself only
it is not anything other than SELF
so friend,
you can do what you wish and take your time
but why not open and open and open
until there are no more doors to walk thru
and no more suffering
only unwavering peace
and no-thing more ...
