a taste -

when he sat by the fire
he felt a stirring to go fully within
and he breathed deeply as if it was his first breath
and sunk in deep within himself
as a one that could not stay afloat any longer
on the surface
he let go for a moment
and with this, all thoughts perished for an instant
there was no world to be seen, heard or felt
all was pure awareness only
and there was a sweet peace never experienced before
this man had not known that there was such freedom
underlying the mental currents that continued without end it seemed
he had heard of liberation spoken
and all the while he assumed he needed to make
himself more worthy and a better person
or that maybe he had failed at something - possibly
there was something he wasn't doing right that he needed to work
harder on...
so this is why he was not free....
all of the ways he told himself that he was different or special
or too much of this or too little of that
fell away in one instant and he was free of all of it...
there were no words to put on it --
no person within it or any-body ...
just pure being  --
later his mind wanted to make something out of the experience
to *own* it  and cling to it ...
his mind desired to bring it back...
yet he knew within, that there was no-mind within it ..
there was no *seeker* within it ...
he had directly experienced this ...
and had a taste --

these types of experiences come along the way
and it is up to the seeker where the journey goes from here ...
the world is a tempting draw for many --
one can follow the pull of the world and get lost again...
or continue steadily forward until all that covers is dissolved
there is always this choice in every moment...
