Crescent moon
why have you hid behind darkness?
do you want to be alone awhile?
i caught you in the thick of evening
and wondered if you wanted to
spend the night behind
the shadow
or if you want to come out
and be full
like you truly are
to give delight to those
weary ones
that need your cooling gaze

do you want to come out?
the night is still young
and there is plenty of time
to be yourself
without the blanket of night
you can rise over the mountains
in the east
and journey slowly to the center
with such grace that is in you
with your glowing beauty
shining bright in the sky
then the faces that look up will smile
in happiness that you
have come out to shine your
beauty thru the darkness....
